Extended Family Photos on Cape Cod: Sons, Daughters, Grandchildren, and Grandparents all together!

Whenever I get inquiries for extended family sessions, one of the first questions everyone asks, is “Can this really get done in a 45 minute session?” I always answer yes!..and also usually tell them to plan for an extra 15 minutes just in case ;)

I know some photographers will book two to three hour sessions for multiple families…but I think there are few people that really want to be photographed (and even fewer kids who want to cooperate) for that long!

When we meet for our session, I’ll make sure we all know the photos that you don’t want to miss and we’ll usually start with the big group to get it out of the way while everyone is happy! I actually really love having a few different families involved because it gives everyone a little break between photos. I think I probably run around a little bit more than usual to make sure we fit everything in, but I do love it!

This summer has been really busy with lots of multi-generational sessions and it’s been fun to see how they all interact with each other differently.

One thing that seems to always apply to my sessions though, is that most of the kids are really good at being goofy - no matter who they’re being photographed with! :)

Take a look at few extended families that I’ve loved working with so far this summer - These sessions took place on Lieutenant’s Island, Mayflower Beach, Nobska Beach, and at their own family home!
